Dear Flutists,
As we move into the second half of our season, I have to look back on the tremendous success of the 2-day Flute Festival that was held in November. We had an outstanding group of presenters and performers who informed and dazzled us throughout the weekend along with fantastic exhibits and the memorable lifetime achievement award banquet for Walfrid Kujala and Donald Peck. The CFC will continue to hold this spectacular event every two years on Veteran's Day weekend, and the next festival will be November 7-8, 2009, a celebration of our 20th season.
I invite you to attend what is sure to be a fantastic masterclass and recital by rising star Denis Bouriakov on April 27 in Evanston, and the day-long Teacher's Workshop on May 18. Please stop by and introduce yourself!
