Newly Commissioned Works to be Featured at Convention

The CFC will be well-represented at the 42nd National Flute Association Convention  August 7 - 10. Don't miss a rare opportunity to hear ALL FOUR pieces (including a WORLD PREMIER of a new piece by Shulamit Ran and a USA PREMIER of a flute choir piece by Ian Clarke) that the Chicago Flute Club has commissioned during our 25 years in existence on Sunday, August 10 from 1:45-3pm in the Marquette Room at the Hilton Chicago. The program is titled "The Chicago Flute Club: Four Pieces for a Quarter Century."  Featured Chicago flutists include Jennie Brown, Jennifer Clippert, Kim Sopata Fleuchaus, Ellen Huntington, Alyce Johnson, Jennifer Lawson, Janice McDonald, Scott Metlicka, Mary Stolper and Karin Ursin.

Info About the NFA Convention

  • August 7-10 at the Chicago Hilton
  • Register before July 22 and avoid paying the higher on-site registration rate.
  • Membership to the National Association is required to attend the full convention.
  • One day passes to events (masterclasses, recitals, lectures) and to the exhibit hall (flutes galore, music, flutey things) are available.
  • Evening Gala tickets may be purchased at the door.

The Chicago Flute Club is a community of flutists in the greater Chicago area that fosters the highest artistic potential of all its members through teaching, listening, and performing.
