Chicago Flute Club announces the next biennial Walfrid Kujala International Piccolo Competition. The competition is open to all piccoloists age 18 or over, excluding high school students. Prizes of $1,000, $500, $250, and $100 will be awarded.  Final round date TBA, sometime in March/April 2017. Preliminary recordings are due Feb.1, 2017. Check our website for further details. 

 

Chicago Flute Club will sponsor the 2016 Annual Student Competition on a Sunday in late October or the first half of November. The competition will be open to flutists through grade 12. Prizes: Elementary Division: $100, $75, $50, Honorable Mention; Junior Division: $150, $100, $75, Honorable Mention; Senior Division: $300 plus $100 gift card, $200, $100, Honorable Mention.  Complete information on date, time, and location of the competition will be available in June in the summer issue of the Pipeline and on the CFC website.

Admission is free for each current CFC member and one guest, and for students and faculty of the Merit School; $15 for non-members. 

The CFC offered 15 minutes, and the flutists bravely stepped up to the plate! 

Come enjoy our 2016 Members Showcase concert, an incredible afternoon of solos and ensembles, as performed by your fellow CFC members.  Music to include works by Debussy, Liebermann, Uebayashi, and many other favorites. Special guest:  Kay Kim, piano.
