Member Showcase

The idea for the Annual Member Showcase arose from the desire to draw the general membership closer to the amazing talent found right here in our very own backyard – Chicago itself. The feeling was that even though the Chicago Flute Club has always brought in amazingly talented artists from around the country and even from around the globe to perform (and will continue to do so), there are artistic treasurers right here in Chicago and its outlying areas that should not be ignored. Chicago's own artists should be enjoyed and celebrated by the public as well. The Club wanted to give the public the chance to hear their own. Thus was born the First Annual Member Showcase. This is not a competition (though participants fill out an application nonetheless). It is a showcase displaying the talents of the Chicago Flute Club's professional members. All professional members are welcome and encouraged to participate. Each year, the Member Showcase will have a theme that will coherently draw together all the music that is performed.
