About The Event

As a continuation of our celebration of Chicago talent, Alyce Johnson, piccolo player with the Lyric Opera and the Chicago Philharmonic, will use a master class to discuss the Vivaldi C Major Piccolo Concerto, a piece each one of us plays at some point in our career.

The first few bars of the piccolo solo are below:

Vivaldi C Major Piccolo Concerto - First few bars

Three musicians will be chosen to play one movement of the concerto, and Alyce will discuss ornamentation and piccolo techniques for each movement. The following Sunday, Alyce will perform the Concerto with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra, when we can hear all of her research and excellent suggestions put to good use.

Special Offer For CFC Members

The Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra has agreed to offer concert tickets to CFC members as part of their "Families to the Philharmonic" program to see Alyce Johnson perform Vivaldi's Piccolo Concerto in C Major - F.
