Dear Flutists,
As we are near the end of another season at the Chicago Flute Club, I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the fabulous group of members who have
served on the board as officers, chairs, assistants and volunteers. They have given tirelessly and can be proud of their accomplishments this year. We
are fortunate to have only a few open positions for next season, including Director, Volunteer Coordinator and Secretary. Please let any board member
know if you are interested or if you have any nominations to make.
Looking forward, we have made a commitment to promote flute pedagogy beginning with a daylong pedagogy workshop led by Patricia George and Mary Stolper
on Monday, July 28th 2008, and continuing throughout the year over six weekday morning workshops.
Next season begins a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Chicago Flute Club. We are planning an outstanding season celebrating "Fabulous Chicago Flutists" including Mathieu Dufour & Jennifer Gunn from the Chicago Symphony, the Cavatina Flute and Guitar Duo, a chamber music concert and a
national piccolo competition. We will conclude our celebration of our 20th season at our next Flute Festival on November 6-8, 2009, so be sure to save
the date.
