Chicago Flute club mission statement

The Chicago Flute Club seeks to foster the highest artistic potential of all its members through teaching, listening and performing. We provide a forum for activities of interest to flutists of all ages and abilities. Our activities are designed to promote, encourage, and nurture appreciation of flute music and technique, as well as provide an opportunity for social interaction among flutists.

Activities that we offer:

  • Recitals and Masterclasses with internationally acclaimed artists
  • Biennial Flute Festivals
  • Workshops and Lectures/Demonstrations
  • Teachers' Exchanges: panel discussions on flute pedagogy
  • Annual Student Competitions (Elementary, Junior, and Senior Divisions)
  • Annual Adult Competitions
  • Flute Choir Reading Sessions
  • Young Performers' Masterclasses
  • Annual Member Showcases
  • Concerts of newly published/commissioned works for flute

At the March 2, 2018 CFC Board meeting, a policy was unanimously adopted that states the following: All Chicago Flute Club events and activities will foster an environment in which every officer, every active, life, student, and commercial member, and every guest artist is treated with courtesy, fairness, and mutual respect.  In return, the CFC expects every guest artist and collaborator to maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and personal integrity, so that we may promote conditions that ensure the rights, safety, and well-being of all people involved in the Club’s activities.
