Chicago Flute Club Member Janice Misurell-Mitchell will present a performance entitled, “The Speaking Flute: Poems and Proclamations” on Friday, March 29 at Guarneri Hall, 11 East Adams St., Chicago. The concert will feature her cutting-edge compositions for flute/voice with the poetry of Dada founder Hugo Ball, Poetry Slam Champion Regie Gibson and Beat Poet William Burroughs. Also performing will be Bob Garrett on frame drum. The event is part of the New Music Chicago Impromptu Series which runs for ten days and features Chicago area composers and ensembles. Appearing also on this program are the Naperville Chamber Players.
