SUMMER STUDENT RECITAL

We are so excited to present this opportunity to our CFC Student Members to perform in the gorgeous recital hall at Northeastern Illinois University  - Slame Harju Steinberg Fine Arts Center.

OVERVIEW

A recital experience should be fun! CFC students in high school and younger are invited to participate and experience an in-person recital to share the joy of music making. This recital is also an opportunity for students to learn the process of preparing for a performance. Family and friends welcome to attend!

The goal of this recital is to give younger students an opportunity to shine in their own unique way. A recital is not a competition. It is a safe place where a young flutist can demonstrate and discover their joy of playing and performing. The CFC hopes to create a sense of community among the students through these recitals which fosters support and encouragement while finding joy from participating in the group.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Students must be a CFC member.

2. Students must be in high school or younger.

3. Students are encouraged to work with a private teacher to help prepare the repertoire.

4. Teachers DO NOT have to be a CFC member

5. Each performance must be NO longer than 7 minutes in length.

6. Each student may submit one piece only.

7. Piece may be one written for solo flute (no accompaniment) or one written with piano accompaniment. If there is an accompaniment, we ask that you do play with a pianist for the recital. 

8. No Fee to enter the recital, however you will have a payment for your accompanist if your piece requires piano.

9. Student provides own pianist or we can provide you with a name of a pianist who will be available that day.

10. We ask that you please AVOID the required repertoire for the 2021 CFC Annual Student Competition.

11. Student Recital Coordinator will contact you regarding your participation in the recital.

SPECIFICATIONS

1. Recital date is Saturday, June 4, 2022, 2 pm 

2. Deadline for submission is May 28, 2022

3. There will be 20 performer slots available accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. 

4. Anyone is welcome to attend these recitals. 

5. Performers and Audience members must provide proof of vaccination.
